Gearing Up for Summer: Learning, Laughing, and Growing on the Mats

As we head into summer, there’s a special kind of energy in the academy. The days are longer, the kids are excited, and our mats are filled with plenty of smiles, laughter, and hard work.
While Jiu-Jitsu is all about developing strong technique and good habits, we believe training should also be fun. When kids enjoy being on the mats, they stay engaged, participate more actively, and are often more willing to challenge themselves. A positive and enjoyable environment helps keep their attention focused and makes learning feel natural rather than forced.
You’ll often see our students stretching together, playing games, working with training partners, and sharing plenty of laughs between rounds. Those moments aren’t distractions from learning—they’re part of the process. Research consistently shows that children retain information better when they’re actively engaged and having fun. When they associate training with positive experiences, they’re more likely to remember techniques, stay motivated, and continue building confidence over time.
Most importantly, summer is a great opportunity for kids to strengthen friendships both on and off the mats. Training alongside teammates teaches cooperation, respect, and teamwork while creating memories they’ll carry with them long after the season ends.
We’re excited for another great summer filled with learning, growth, and plenty of fun. Whether your child is brand new to Jiu-Jitsu or has been training for years, we can’t wait to spend the summer helping them improve their skills, build confidence, and enjoy every step of the journey.
See you on the mats! 🥋☀️
