To Eudaimonia Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

We are the premiere Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in the Sugar Hill area.  We believe that martial arts is a lifestyle that transcends the sport and self-defense.  It improves the whole person – physically, mentally, and emotionally.  We offer classes for adults of all ages and fitness levels in an environment that is safe, friendly, & supportive.

We are an affiliate of the renowned, Diego Saraiva Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and team Nova União.  Diego is one of the most respected and decorated martial artist in the Atlanta metro area, and Nova União has an enduring history as one of the most accomplished MMA teams in the world.

STEPHEN LEE

Stephen Lee (aka “Bolo”) has been a martial artist since the age of 4, and he has been teaching kids for over a decade. Some of his accomplishments include:

  • Purple Belt Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (under Diego Saraiva)
  • 4th Dan Black Belt, Taekwondo
  • 1st Degree Black Belt, Judo
  • Multiple time IBJJF Open Champion
  • Georgia State Taekwondo Champion
  • 2012 ATU National Champion
  • 2011 Yong-In University Presidential Cup Champion
  • 2010 South Carolina State Taekwondo Champion

Stephen is a graduate of Georgia State University and he spends his free time reading about philosophy, lifting weights, and hanging out with friends.

Eudaimonia is a Greek word with no exact translation, but some suggest “flourishing” is the most accurate definition. Some felt eudaimonia was a state reached when we achieved our highest reason. Some believed it came when we achieved our highest form of virtue. Some felt it was a result of finding truth. However, it seems the consensus from all of them is that eudaimonia is an active pursuit; it comes from the pursuit of perfection, not from the attainment of a goal. Eudaimonia will set you free, and eudaimonia is also the ultimate freedom: nothing else can compare. When we do immerse ourselves fully in the act of living, we flourish.

Diego Saraiva is one of the most accomplished jiu jitsu athletes in Atlanta.  He has over over 30 black belt medals in the most prestigious events (IBJJF).  He is a World Championship medalist and 8-time Pan American Championship medalist.  

For our students, our affiliation with Diego ensures that our teaching methods, curriculum, and belt promotion process are best-in-class, and we have access to some of world’s best jiu jitsu talent and a network of academies around the world through his team, Nova Uniao.
